Ezekiel 38:1-2 (NIV) The word of the Lord came to me: 2 “Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog… Who in the world are Gog and Magog? Over the years many have attempted to assign these two powers mentioned in Ezekiel to nations of current times. But is that what Ezekiel was talking about? Was Ezekiel talking about nations 2500 years after he was writing this? Many look at Ezekiel 38-39 and see visions of some final, end of time war, but is that really what it is talking about? This week in our Ezekiel series we will look at these two chapters and answer these questions. We will see that these chapters are really an encouragement to God’s people. Next week we will transition into Ezekiel’s vision of “A New Temple” and our lesson text next week will come from Ezekiel 40-43 if you want to read ahead.
