Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The Bible does not discuss the subject of evolution. Rather, its worldview assumes God created the world. The Biblical view of creation is not in conflict with science; rather, it is in conflict with any worldview that starts without a creator.
Equally committed and sincere Christians have struggled with the subject of beginnings and come to differing conclusions. The most important aspect of the creation account of Genesis 1 is not the process of creation but the origin of creation. The heavens and the earth are not products of blind chance and probability, God created them.
Genesis chapter one is fundamental and foundational to our faith as Christians. This Sunday we will begin a short sermon series on Genesis chapter one titled “In the beginning”. We will go through the first chapter of the Bible verse by verse. This week’s sermon will focus on the first 5 verses. The audio of the sermon should be available on our website by noon on Sunday.
Praying everyone has a blessed week,
In Christ,
Gary T.
