Luke 5:18-20 Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus. 19 When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus. 20 When Jesus saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.”
The paralytic’s friends showed remarkable determination to get him to Jesus. Luke, led by the Spirit and inspired by God, wrote that “their faith” – the man’s and his friends’ – moved Jesus to forgive and to heal. Jesus recognized that a helpless man needed help to come to him. Often an individual comes to Christ only with the persistent encouragement, prayers, and faith of friends and family.
I’ll be in Las Cruces speaking at the Panlener Church of Christ this Wednesday, but can’t wait to see all of you again next Sunday! Praying everyone has a great week.
In Christ,
