Matthew 6:33 (NASB) But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided to you.
To “seek first His kingdom and His righteousness” means to put God first in your life, to fill your thoughts with His desires, to take His character for your pattern, and to serve and obey Him in everything. What is really important to you? People, objects, goals, and other desires all compete for priority. Any of these can quickly become most important to you if you do not actively choose to give God first place in EVERY area of your life.
This Sunday we continue our study from Jesus’ “Sermon on the Mount” (Matthew 5-7) as we wrap up the section on overcoming worry in Matthew 6:24-34. Our focus will be on Matthew 6:33-34 and what it looks like to seek first His kingdom .
