Ezekiel 37:15-17 (NIV) The word of the Lord came to me: 16 “Son of man, take a stick of wood and write on it, ‘Belonging to Judah and the Israelites associated with him.’ Then take another stick of wood, and write on it, ‘Belonging to Joseph (that is, to Ephraim) and all the Israelites associated with him.’ 17 Join them together into one stick so that they will become one in your hand.
Last week we looked at the first fourteen verses of Ezekiel 37 and the vision of dry bones. We saw how when the Spirit comes, God will raise all who come to Him through Christ to new, eternal, spiritual life. This week we focus on the last half of Ezekiel 37 (15-28). Here, God uses two sticks to symbolize the restoration of His people under one king. We will see what this all means, when it happened, and most importantly what it means for God’s people today.
