In Genesis 24, Abraham sent out his chief servant to find a wife for his son, Isaac. The servant’s primary tool to complete the mission was prayer. James 5:16 tells us that the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. The Christian’s most powerful resource is communion with God through prayer and the results are often greater than we thought possible. Some people pray as a last resort to be tried when all else fails. This approach is backward. Prayer should come first, because God’s power is infinitely greater than ours and it only makes sense to rely on it.
This Sunday we will take a look at Genesis 24 and see how prayer and action helped a servant fulfill the wishes of his master. Praying everyone has a blessed week.
