1st Peter 1:15-16 (NIV) But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”
With our theme this year being holiness I decided to zero in on 1 book in particular for the first part of the year. Since our key passage for this series is 1st Peter 1:15-16 it makes sense to look at the context of those verses. And when you look at the context you quickly see that the entire book of 1st Peter is a great study on what it means for us, as God’s people, to pursue holiness.
So, this past Sunday we began a series within a series as we started a a look at 1st Peter. The first lesson comes from 1st Peter 1:1-12 and addresses a number of topics. One of the best things about just going through a book of the bible is that it will naturally lead you to all sorts of relevant topics. That is certainly going to the case as we go through 1st Peter.
