The Israelites of Elijah’s day were involved with God but they weren’t committed to Him. They wanted to have a foot in both camps. A lot of times we want to hang on to a little bit of God while also enjoying the pleasures of the world. Sometimes we find it easier to compromise God’s standards for the standards of the world because it just makes life more comfortable. We want to be involved with religion but not committed to God. This never has and never will be acceptable to God, He expects our wholehearted commitment. If we try to have it both ways we will live a roller coaster life without any real peace. We need to listen to Elijah’s God inspired words from 1 Kings 18:21 “If the Lord is God, follow him”.
This Sunday we will be in 1 Kings 18 as we continue our look at the prophet Elijah.
Praying everyone has a blessed week,
In Christ,
