Psalm 46:1-3 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, 3 though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.
This is a triumphant confession of fearless trust in God, though the continents break up and sink beneath the surging waters of the seas – i.e., though the creation itself may seem to become uncreated we will not fear. In other words you can put your trust and hope in whatever you please but for the children of God, He is our refuge and he is our strength.
