Romans 14:5-6 One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. 6 Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God; and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God.
Some feel that the above passage refers primarily to the weekly Sabbath, but it is probably a reference to all the special days of the Old Testament Ceremonial Law. The New Testament made the observance of special days optional. For the Christian, all days are to be dedicated to God through Holy Living and Godly service.
A lot of people associate this time of year with the birth of Jesus. The Bible never gives us a date for Jesus’ birth nor does it tell us to celebrate it. However, since it is on people’s minds this time of the year, it doesn’t hurt to revisit the Biblical accounts of the events and people surrounding the birth of Jesus. This Sunday, we will take a closer look at Joseph from Matthew 1:16-25.
Look forward to being back with you this week.
In Christ,
Gary T. and family.
