While the New Testament made the observance of special days optional (see Romans 14:5-6; Galatians 4:10-11), the principles of the Old Testament feasts and Holy Days remain relevant for us today. Rest is important physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Unceasing work is largely the result of self-reliance. The Sabbath rest showed that Israel trusted God enough to be still for a day (Exodus 16:14-30). Assemblies pursued the same goal: to affirm and proclaim reliance upon God.
This Wednesday evening, we will continue our study of the Old Testament Feasts and Holy days by taking a closer look at the Feast of Pentecost. Looking forward to being back with you this week.
