Colossians 3:12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
What does it look like to clothe yourself with patience? I’m probably the last person you would look at to see what being clothed in patience looks like. If we read further, we see in verse 13 what clothing oneself with patience might look like. Colossians 3:13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
If we are going to clothe ourselves with patience we must “bear with each other”. This means that we have to learn to put up with one another, be willing to forgive one another, in other words, be patient with one another. Just like in all of our other lessons on Colossians 3:12 there is no better example of patience and being patient with others than Jesus. This Sunday, we will wrap up our series on Colossians 3:12 by looking in the book of Mark to see how Jesus was patient with his disciples.
Praying everyone has a great week!
In Christ,
Gary T.
