Luke 18:1 Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. Jesus’ parable about the persistent widow in Luke 18 is clear. God wants us to continue in prayer, not to weary us, but to exercise us. Like we talked about last week, the more persistently we pray the more our will aligns with God’s will. Therefore we must PUSH ahead (Pray Until Something Happens) with patience realizing that God’s timing is perfect. The NKJ translates the phrase “not give up” in Luke 18:1 as “not lose heart”. When things do not happen on our timetable it can cause us to lose heart, but we cannot lose heart. Keep pushing, keep praying knowing that God is faithful and will answer in His time.
This week we will take a closer look at the parable of the Persistent Widow found in Luke 18:1-8. The audio of the lesson will be available on our website Sunday morning. Praying everyone is staying safe, sane, and healthy.
In Christ,
