To be persistent means to do something unceasingly and continuously. Persistence is a character trait of a faithful Christian. Last week we looked at the power of prayer, particularly group or congregational prayer. And while congregational prayer is extremely important we also must remember that individual prayer is just as important and effective. The bottom line is that Christians need to be praying persistently.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 tells us to pray continually. Ephesians 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Paul, inspired by God, closed his letter to the Ephesians by reminding them to always keep on praying, in other words, be persistent. Over the next couple of Sundays we are going to look at two passages from the Gospel of Luke that deal with praying persistently beginning this week with Luke 11:1-13.
The audio of the sermon will be available by 10:00 AM this Sunday under the Sermon Audio File. Praying everyone is staying safe, sane, and healthy and that everyone has a blessed week.
In Christ,
