Psalm 100 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. 2Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. 3Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. 4Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. 5For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
What an appropriate passage of Scripture as we head into Thanksgiving week. By most worldly accounts 2020, for the most part, has been one unmitigated disaster after another. Yet, for the child of God, there are infinite reasons to be thankful. Psalm 100 says we should “Shout for joy to the Lord”. Regardless of the times, the Christian can shout for joy because we know that “the Lord is God”. He made us, we are His! We are His people! We know that the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. That is our God, the only God, the sovereign and Almighty God, and He always takes care of His people. Therefore we shout for joy, we enter his gates with thanksgiving, we give thanks to Him and praise His name.
Praying everyone has a safe and happy thanksgiving!
