(NASB) Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we also have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we celebrate in hope of the glory of God.
Those who are “in Christ” are now at peace with God. This may differ from peaceful feelings such as calmness and tranquility. Peace with God means we have been reconciled with Him. There is no more hostility between us and God; nothing blocking our access to Him. And this peace is possible only because Jesus paid the price for our sins through His death on the cross.
This Sunday we will look at Jesus’ death on the cross as recorded for us in John 19:17-42.
