A document that Politico describes as an “initial draft majority opinion” written by Justice Samuel Alito suggests the Supreme Court has decided to strike down Roe v. Wade, the seminal precedent that in 1973 wrested the regulation of abortion from the states and made the procedure lawful throughout the entire United States.
If this is indeed true then it is an answer to numerous prayers over the past 49 years. Evil never, ever, prevails and God always wins in the end. But evil is very persistent as we will be seeing in the coming days and weeks and as already seen on the steps of the Supreme Court Monday night. God’s people should rejoice in the news of a potential overturn of this abhorrent ruling that legalized premeditated murder of the most innocent lives but we also must continue to pray fervently about this issue.
Philippians 4:4-7 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
