My family and I are taking a short vacation this coming weekend and in my absence this coming Sunday Dr. Dennis Cravens will be giving the sermon. It is entitled The Forgotten Gift and here is a brief preview provided by Dr. Cravens:
“Now these three remain: Faith, Hope, and Love.
But the greatest of these is Love.” (1 Cor 13:13)
We often talk and preach about faith and love. We tend to forget the role of Hope.
A true biblical view of Hope is much deeper than just a secular wish.
It is grounded in the promises of God. It is the anchor for our soul. (Heb 6:19)
For example: What is the source of our Faith and Love?
3 We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you,
4 because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people—
5the faith and love that spring from the hope stored up for you in heaven and about which
you have already heard in the true message of the gospel 6 that has come to you.(Col 1:3-6a).
