1st Timothy 1:1-2 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope, 2 To Timothy my true son in the faith: Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
This week we began a summer series on the books of 1st and 2nd Timothy. These two letters are rich with examples for God’s people today. But often overlooked in Paul’s letters are the greetings. Much like a fine dinner we often want to skip the salad and get to the main course. But that salad is important, it contains lots of valuable nutrients. Likewise, the greetings at the beginning of Paul’s letters contain valuable spiritual nutrients that we should take the time to consume and digest. So we kicked off our series this past Sunday by focusing on 1st Timothy 1:1-2, the greeting.
