The Resurrection

Posted on October 15, 2025 by admin

In our Wednesday Evening Bible Study we are studying the resurrection of Jesus. We are learning exactly what the Scriptures teach, how we can defend the resurrection, and what it all means to us as Christians today. We have worked our way through all 4 gospel accounts (Matthew 27-28; Mark 15-16; Luke 23-24; John 20-21) and last week we looked at Acts 1:3-11. This week we begin a look at 1 Corinthians 15.

In 1 Corinthians 15 Paul provides thorough teaching about the resurrection of Christians from the dead. This is a direct counter to some group of Corinthians who apparently were confused about the resurrection or had lost faith in it altogether. But the apostle Paul, inspired by God and led by the Holy Spirit, shows that natural death is not the end of life for Christians; it is simply a transition into eternity with Christ. All who are in Christ Jesus have been given the greatest of all victories, a victory over death (1 Corinthians 15:57).

Our first lesson in this study focuses on the beginnings of the church in Corinth (Acts 18:1-11). It looks at just who made up the church in Corinth (1 Corinthians 6:9-11). And, 1 Corinthians 15:1. The audio of this introduction lesson is available below and we will have the power point lesson up later this week on the Wednesday Bible Study Page.
